Bobby Louw & The Solid Gold Band
I
Well-known singer and band-leader Bobby Louw is proud to present “Bobby Louw & The Solid Gold Band”.
The name refers to the ever-popular type of music that the band plays, which is the classic rock and pop hits of yesteryear, from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Plus a few Sinatra-type swing songs, which sound great with the brass section !
From company directors and successful business people who grew up loving songs such as “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “Burnout”, “Have You Ever Seen The Rain”, “Brown-Eyed Girl” and “Sweet Home Alabama”, to the younger crowd as well, everyone enjoys these dance-able, sing-a-long-able, classic rock and pop hits.
The band includes 2 lovely go-go dancers, who create a great fun vibe once the dancing starts, and get everyone involved in doing some of the fun 60s dances, such as The Twist, The Locomotion, The Limbo and The Funky Chicken !
Radio 702 plays this type of music all day long on their very popular “Solid Gold Saturdays and Sundays” every weekend. Now “Bobby Louw & The Solid Gold Band” give you the chance to enjoy many of these good old songs played live !
Bobby Louw is highly qualified to present this type of music.
Apart from being a well-known solo artist, Bobby was the Musical Director and main singer of the very popular Flashbacks TV series on TV4, which included tributes to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and many others, filmed on Margate Beach. He was also the founder, music arranger and lead singer of The Rock Rebels. Bobby was also a member of The Bats and The Dream Merchants.
“Bobby Louw & The Solid Gold Band” is available with or without the 3-piece brass section (trumpet, trombone and saxophone). The brass section does, however, add an extra excitement and special vibe to the music !
